A human-centered design approach is helping deliver an intelligent transport system in the city of Gui’an, People’s Republic of China (PRC), that will help reduce pollution, cut traffic congestion, and improve transport safety.
ADB is helping the government finance the project with a $199.46 million loan. The project will also finance some sustainable transport infrastructure as part of the rollout of the system, including 200 clean energy buses, 20 bus stations, 21 electric vehicle charging stations, and a demonstration zone for research and development on vehicle communication technologies.
