SAMARTHYA



United Nations Population Fund with close collaboration with KISS and Govt of Odisha, is introducing life skill education in 157 special schools of the state in which around 8,500 children are enrolled having disabilities such as visual, speech and hearing as well as intellectual disabilities. “Samarthya” is one such human centered design that can improve the lives of children with disabilities across the state. It not only attempts to improve accessibility, equality of opportunity; promoting participation and inclusion; but also deals with preventing the youth from reducing harmful practices and adopting healthier behaviors.
