The third TECA expedition, held on 17 June 2022, focussed on how tech solutions can address the challenges of small scale fishers (SSFs). SSFs are a significant group–some 60 million men and women worldwide–who are very vulnerable to changing conditions including climate change, overexploitation of fisheries and recently, Covid closures of restaurants. This Expedition session explored current solutions being deployed in parts of Africa and the world with the aim of encouraging the next generation of innovations in this space.
